Classroom Seating Chart: The Labyrinth
This seating chart is set up almost like a box, but with wider spaces between the desks. This allows for a lot of movement from the teacher to travel and make sure the students are understanding the concepts throughout the lesson.

Classroom Seating Chart: Team Players
Three groups of four, with one group of six make for an even number for several partner groupings within one “team.” Use these different pairings to complete various learning tasks throughout the day. Not only will the students get to know one another better, but overall classroom atmosphere will improve.

Classroom Seating Chart: Flat Tires
Not perfect circles, but rather more egg-like, these two small circles of desks are good for students moving into groups. You could use this seating arrangement to your advantage by having students get into different groups throughout the lesson or day and switch seats. It certainly would keep the students awake!

Classroom Seating Chart: Wigwams
Triangular groups of three is nice for group discussions and projects. This type of classroom desk arrangement would not be conducive to much lecturing as the students are all facing different directions and they may not get a full line of sight of the teacher.

Five teams are placed in a linear formation. This type of seating chart is popular in many classrooms.

Classroom Seating Chart: Fan
This seating chart contains three groups of 8 students each. The teams are spread out like a fan in order to truly separate each team unto itself.

Classroom Seating Chart: Dueling Desks
This desk arrangement is more like a competitive arena. The students are able to work in a discussion format and are able to see one another, while there is still a team concept from viewing the alternating sides of the room.

Classroom Seating Chart: The Dippers
Zig zags formations are the center of this class seating chart. This would work best for individual student center work as the students would be able to work independently, while also allowing for freedom of movement throughout the classroom.

Classroom Seating Chart: Obtuse
Almost like the Right Angle, but a little wider.

Classroom Seating Chart: Boxing Ring
One large square shape with a couple of back row seats completes this example. This would be great for public speaking presentations where the students would have to present in the middle of the square. Another idea would be an opportunity for open discussion so that the students would be able to face one another for proper discussion etiquette.
