This Teacher Taught His Class A Powerful Lesson About Privilege
A high school teacher leads a simple, yet powerful exercise to teach his class a lesson about privilege using a recycling bin and crumpled up pieces of paper. Everyone took their shots, and — as expected — most of the students in the front made it (but not all) and only a few students in the back of the room made it.

In Korea, Adoptees Fight To Change Culture That Sent Them Overseas
NPR Article, "In Korea, Adoptees Fight to Change Culture That Sent Them Overseas" (Illustration by Dain Suh.) Lots of good stories from other adoptees on this article as well. Could serve as a great discussion piece for older kids (maybe even younger kids if reworked a bit) about race, ethnicity, culture, and even adoption. Korean culture surrounding adoption is very different from here in the U.S.
