An old windmill in Dundalk in Ireland, stands seven stories high and it overlooks the east end of the town. With its roof and sails long gone it has the appearance of an early Christian round tower. ---> arpadlukacs.com ---> twitter ---> blog

An engine (CIE 171) going onto a turn table at Dundalk, Co. Louth. Flying Snail told us: "In the background is the GNR's 'general stores' building, which is a little run down these days. A lot of CIE's steam locos were scrapped in the Dundalk works and this may explain the number of engine wheels dumped in the background." Date: Saturday, 22 April 1961 NLI Ref.: ODEA 25/55

Europe

A Grand Tour of Europe is an iconic trip for a reason: The continent packs an incredible amount of diversity into a relatively small space. Feast on pasta and gelato in Italy, chase the Northern Lights in Scandinavia, and island hop in Greece. Or step off-the-beaten-path to see Romania's haunting castles and the Baltics' charming coast.
