Once just a simple grey barn, a group of hippies painted the barn up around 1967, using it as a squatters' home and a place to hang out, smoke pot, and farm vegetables in their now-gone urban garden. The IL 'hippie barn' is now neglected. The hippies have grown up and moved on, the garden is overgrown, and the paint is faded. The barn is visited only by the homeless and by urban explorers.
