Neon gradient + tribal nails (and an announcement!)

Happy Easter everyone! I'm going to hopefully be posting twice today because I'm going to quickly try and do a 'Then and Now' post for tonight because I didn't have time to do one last night. But I just wanted to show you these neon gradients I did, and then decided to add a tribal design to. I shall have a tutorial coming up for this soon if you're interested? These were meant to be my 'easter' nails for this year but I fancied something a little different to the usual pastel combinations…

Tie Dye Nails

Welcome

Hey, y'all! I'm really excited about today's tie dye manicure and I hope y'all like it too. I did my very first video tutorial, for these tie-dye nails that use the needle drag technique. I'm really proud of how it came out and I hope you find it helpful, and go out and do tons of tie-dye manicures. First, the nails. These were done using four polishes from the China Glaze Electropop Collection; Fuchsia Fanatic, Sunshine Pop, Aquadelic and Gothic Lolita.

How To Get Swirly, Tie-Dyed Nails

Our intrepid beauty intern, Sara, is a die-hard DIY beauty junkie and found this amazing manicure on a Tumblr (it's been tough to trace, but we believe it originated here.). Tie-dyed nails, otherwise known as water marbling, have been around for the last few years, but it’s notoriously difficult to get the bright results seen here (on many pictures we’ve seen, the color looks washed out or not as crisp.) Want to try your luck? We sat through countless YouTube tutorials to piece together the…

Purple Tie-Dye Nails

Purple Tie-Dye Nails.

I decided to play around with a tie-dye-esque technique the other day. I wasn't sure exactly what look I was going for, so I just messed around until I got something I like on each of my nails. I think this technique could result in a really awesome manicure if I figured out a cool pattern to aim for on each of my nails, however I'm not sure I'd attempt it again. The actual painting was really quick and simple, but cleanup was terrible. Maybe sometime when I have a lot of time on my hands…
