Ornamental sword hilts and scabbards; cloisonne work, gold and garnets; from the tomb of Childeric I, discovered in Tournai in 1653 by the physician Jean-Jaques Chiflet.  Bibliotheque Nat.,Cabinet des Medailles, Paris, France. Many of the artifacts from the grave were stolen in the 19th century leaving only a few pieces and the drawings of Chiflet.
