The leather is a sturdy thick piece of vegetable-tanned cowhide, hand carved by me. It is dyed and painted with a variety of colorfast acrylics and dyes in black and silver. I have cupped the leather by shaping it with heat, so that it does not press against your eye...it is custom-fitted to your left eye…
