Each year the tall pine next to the Art Studio is home to a family of magpies. I have watched as they rear their young, take their first flying lessons and scavenge through the remains of recess and lunch discarded by the boys. Under the Sea. Salt and wax resist watercolor technique

This is a print of my original watercolour painting of sea coral in a deep denim blue, and was inspired by my love of vintage botanical specimens. Image size measures 8x10, centered on 8.3"x11.7 paper (A4). I use 300gsm, cold-pressed aquarelle paper for all prints, to retain as much of the depth and detail of the original painting as possible. This is fish #2 in a series of fabric fish sculptures. She stands on a bright fabric covered wood block stand. She is almost 3" long herself, and the entire sculpture measures about 7" high. She is made from fabric, ribbon, beads, string, crepe, and lots of pins. Yep, pins. This is not suitable as a toy because of the stabby nature of the pins if one was to pull them out.
