Popel Coumou

Popel Coumou is a Dutch photographer who employs light to sculpt remembered but somehow nonexistant spaces. Ghostly, inverted piramids balance on an imagined horizon which ultimately consists out of nothing more but a thin line of bright white light. By using an old analogue camera to capture carefully crafted collages she is able to find romantic notions in the most abstract of artistic gestures.
