This beautiful pattern is made using only square knots and hitches with a tiny little weaving detail for the centre of the flower. I'm practicing small sample sizes of patterns for my new huge Macramé piece. Why? Because I find it's the best way to judge exactly the length I'll need to cut for my final project which minimises rope wastage! Practicing small sample sizes also means that I can allocate pockets of time with a specific goal in mind. Being able to dissect large projects down into manageable checkpoints is essential for managing stress, judging the time it will take to complete certain tasks and your creative flow! I know the energy I want to incorporate into my new project and whilst I'll still be improvising large sections there are things like these Daisys and a few other motifs that I don't usually do so it's good to remind my hands of what they need to do! If you're wanting to learn how to make macrame I have Melbourne workshops available in January, March and April. They're all over half full so if you're keen on joining head over to www.thinkthornbury.com and click, book now. You'll be crafting beautiful patterns like this in no time. Much Love, Maggie May".
