French art nouveau buckle gilt brass iris flowers ormolu
Art Nouveau gilt buckle fresh from France. The buckle is in matt gold over brass . The design is an iris flower with the stem curving around to form the outline of the buckle. The gold is a buttery yellow with a little wear. Dating from circa 1905 and in lovely antique condition. The triple prong section moves easily. The buckle measures 1 5/8 inches across by 2 1/8 inch high. Found in the south of France at the Marche' d'un jour in Avignon.
