This wonderful Tooting garden was designed by Shelley Hugh-Jones and built by Belderbos Landscapes. The garden uses a combination of sawn sandstone, hardwood decking and cedar batten trellis. The outdoor pool is sunken and includes water jets and the planting is a mixture of evergreen and herbaceous to provide year-round interest.
And a small protected central courtyard provides a reading nook. The very contemporary modular daybeds make for a casual and enticing place to hide from the cares of the day. This is a more grown up space.
All clippings and prunings are dug into the trench between the rows and when the time comes to replant, the rich compost from the trench is dug back into the garden bed, ready to go with the new crop. No delay. I not only loved the veggies and flowers. But I love the scarecrows too.
