Using genetic information to perform precision medicine should improve our health and create new ways to fight disease, but it won't be here any time soon.

DNA replication---Helicase, polymerase and ligase all play a role in DNA replication by taking the original DNA and creating templates. The templates go on to create new strands of DNA.

Overly simplified view of replication, omitting the use of primers, polymerase I and II, and primers to form Okazaki fragments on the lagging strand.

If you teach genetics at the high school or college level, stop pinning long enough to watch this for five min. DNA replication, transcription, and protein synthesis all in one.

Meiosis: cell division necessary for sexual reproduction in eukaryotes, such as animals, plants & fungi. The number of sets of chromosomes in the cell undergoing meiosis is reduced to half the original number, typically from two sets (diploid) to one set (haploid). The cells produced by meiosis are either gametes (the usual case in animals) or otherwise usually spores from which gametes are ultimately produced (the case in land plants).

This is sort of an example of gamete in an indirect way. This is because a gamete is a mature sexual reproductive cell, and this shows meiosis, a division that is mandatory to produce a sexual reproductive cell.

DNA Polymerase: functions to polymerize newly forming strands of complementary DNA in the 5 to 3 prime direction, using an existing strand of DNA as a template; may also function to proofread for errors in the new DNA strand
