Thuja orientalis is a tough Chinese species and can tolerate dry conditions. It is hardy, easy to grow, compact and displays curious thread-like foliage. It is colored yellow and green from spring through fall, then evolves to a bronze orange in winter.
Morgan's Chinese Arborvitae, evergreen, Tolerates extremely dry to boggy wet conditions, provided drainage is adequate. Quite drought tolerant once established. Average landscape size: Grows 2 to 4 in. per year, reaching 3 ft. tall at 10 years.
