The Anglo Saxons spoke Germanic languages and were not very good at reading and writing. Instead They used symbols called runes. Whereas the Britains who were pushed westward understood the Roman language of Latin and could read and write.
These are a rendition of Anglo-Saxon runes. They very much remind me of the runes used in both the dwarfish language. More recently, it reminds me of the language used in the movie Frozen which is also from a similar culture.
Khuzdul (IPA: [kʰuzdul]) is the language of the Dwarves in J. Tolkien's Middle-earth, written with Cirth script. Not much is known of the language, as the Dwarves kept it to themselves, except for their battle-cry: Baruk Khazâd!
