By looking at the different pictures and their corresponding ages, one can clearly notice the ways Anthropologist can identify if a skeleton belongs to an adult or to a sub-adult. A baby's skull has fontanelles which are the fissures in the skull that have not closed yet. The six year old still needs to develop more prominent maxillary and jaw bones. The elder has clearly lost all teeth.
