At the back of the dining room area you could put a wall-to-wall bookcase filled with books. If you don't have that many books you can have a display bookcase where you place nick backs, a few books, some magazine, sculptures etc.
Keep to a neutral colour palette and go to town with reclaimed wood, ceramic metro tiles, copper – anything goes. The use of cladding will also give your kitchen a cosy cabin feel, as supposed to just being plain old small. A handsome dish, indeed.
Luxury added with original features makes a space feel more interesting and adds character. The marble countertops and the Moroccan tiled sink combined together look great. It's a perfect way to add colour into a space subtly.
