The tile we used is a honed natural stone travertine from Materials Marketing in Texas called vintage vein cut travertine in 3 different sizes (2x8, 3x16, and 4x24). It has creamy beige, taupe, and gray throughout and is so interesting with the vein cut. Originally, we were going to go with all 12x24 large size vein cut travertine tiles until I saw a picture on Houzz with a fireplace structure very similar to the one we built, and they used 3 varying sizes of this tile in alternating rows.
