Stylus This stylus is made from bone, and has a flat head. This head has been hand-decorated with dots and various incised lines. Below the head are two prominent ridges, with a smaller one in the middle. The shaft is round and tapers slightly towards the metal tip. Styli and wax tablets were used for writing as early as the Classical Greek period, and this stylus is medieval.  Production Date: Late Medieval; 14th-15th century
