Diahann Carroll (17th July 1935) is an American television/stage actress & singer. She has had a long, successful career that has spanned nearly six decades. After appearing in some of the earliest major studio films to feature African-American casts such as "Carmen Jones" (1954) & "Porgy and Bess" (1959). On Broadway, she starred in "Julia" (1968). She was one of the first African-American women on American television to star in a non-stereotypical role on ABC's "Dynasty".
