Italian cervelliere ca 1250.  Holes around perimeter for fastening an aventail. Key hole shaped hole in front for attachment of a nasal bar "and chainmail face-guard". Water finding. Height 17 cm. The type is depicted in many contemporary illustrations as the helmet of infantrymen, the Maciejowski Bible dating fol. 3v and fol. 10r,  A similar piece from a Spanish collection is depicted in D. José Estruch y Cumella, Museo-Armeria, Barcelona 1896, no. 1262.
