Last year some friends gave us a set of old dressers before they moved to the beach. The dressers were in decent shape, but definitely needed a little work. I just knew I was the girl for the job. I would like to show you a easy way to distress using paint. This is not your typical way of distressing either. Let's just say this is cheating a little ;-) Originally I was going to paint this coco but then decided on Annie Sloan Duck egg blue.

I was so excited when I found this beautiful old piece! This half moon dresser can easily double as a buffet- the mirror comes off and is attached from the back so the top is completely finished. Subtle black glaze accents features and very light shading on the drawer fronts and cabinet doors ( see the last pic for shading- it was so bright out when I took these pics!). The Doors open with an old PO Box key. :)

This dresser has been sitting in my garage for over a year, ever so slowly, transforming, metamorph-ing (not a word, I know) into this... Painted in CeCe Caldwell's Antique White and ASCP Duck Egg. I left the original glass knobs on it, but I can't make up my mind about them... Opinions are welcome! :) This piece is now SOLD.

We bought this dresser and got a phenomenal deal at only $40! It needed tons of love. I started out wanting to restore the top and chalk pain/wax the entire base...until the hubs convinced me to restore the drawers as well. As grouchy as I was to start those, I love the results. He loved it so much he said it was definitely a keeper as soon as the red paint dried! Please check out my blog post for details onc the restoration and painting process!
