Royal palaces, estates, castles, ceremonial and military.
My friend Joe Di Leo published this photograph of the 1858 Stateroom GILT PIANO. It was purchased by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert for the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace. Normally, the grand piano is in the Yellow Drawing Room and occasionally finds its way to the Queen’s Gallery for an exhibition. I am publishing Joe’s photograph as well as a photograph of the Yellow State Room; however, I can’t find a photograph of this magnificent room where the piano is included in the image.
Holyroodhouse Palace, the official residence of The Queen in Scotland, has a history stretching right back to 1128, when it was founded as a monastery. Associated with some of the most famous figures in Scottish history, Holyroodhouse was once the home of Mary Queen of Scots, who lived here from 1561 to 1567. From Holyroodhouse Palace you can walk the Royal Mile to Edinburgh Castle.
