Edmund Beaufort, 4th Duke of Somerset was an English nobleman, a courtier and a military commander during the Wars of the Roses, in which he supported the House of Lancaster and personally Queen Margaret of Anjou. He was a relative to Margaret's husband, King Henry VI, and a powerful representative of The Beaufort family. He headed the Royal Army against Army of York's in the first battle of The Wars of The Roses, was defeated and beheaded at the age 33.
