Brig. Gen. Włodzimierz Krzyżanowski (1824-1887). A Polish 48er; he raised the 58th New York Infantry Regiment. In 1862 he was made a Brigadier but the Senate messed up the promotion two times and later he was brevetted as such, too. He commanded a brigade in the XI Corps and later others in the west. After the war he became a civil servant.
