Vintage Buttons make up these exquisite bracelets. I first crochet a banding of lace using white or ecru Cebelia thread which I then thread with an elastic. I then stitch a wide variety of antique buttons to this base. The button bracelets are 1 1/2 inches wide and approximately 7 to 7 1/2 inches long with a button closure. Inspired by the rustic Japanese craft of boro, which translates as "rags," a patched cuff of intriguing scraps, with vintage rhinestones, sequins and French knots. This handmade bracelet was made from part of an upcycled - recycled - repurposed stonewashed denim blue jeans waistband. At the center is a large goldtone square medallion studded with clear rhinestones that came from a vintage piece of jewelry. I glued a carved ivory rose to the center (also salvaged) and sewed it onto the denim band.
