The Crooked Forest (Krzywy Las - Nowe Czarnowo, West Pomerania, Poland), is a grove of app.400 pine trees planted around 1930. It is generally believed that some human tool or technique was used to make the trees grow this way, but the method and motive are not currently known. Some believe those are "Compass Timbers". Other say, tanks from WWII rolled over young trees forcing them to grow in the direction they were run over. But, if so, why would the trees grow this way only near Czarnowo?
