This is what I would do if I had insulin resistance and/or pre-diabetes. And these tips are part of every treatment plan I give to my patients who struggle with blood sugar dysregulation.

☀️Strength training 3-5x/week. Skeletal muscle is one of the largest users and storers of glucose. Having adequate skeletal muscle also helps make us more insulin sensitive. 

☀️Aim for 10 grams of fiber and 30 grams of protein at each meal. Fiber and protein help prevent spikes in glucose and insulin. They also help maintain a healthy weight. 

☀️Aim for a 12-14 hour overnight fast between dinner and breakfast 5x/week. We have great data showing how this level of intermittent fasting reduces insulin resistance and pre-diabetes.
