The Slavik people of Bulgaria who are commonly known as Pomak community are Muslims and they have unique traditions and culture. The Pomak weddings are also an interesting occasion and the bride prepares herself in an exclusive and individual manner. The traditional dress of Bulgaria is truly the symbol of the centuries old culture of this beautiful country.

Perhaps what is most interesting of all local customs is the traditional Pomak wedding in the village of Ribnovo which has preserved the old Bulgarian engagement customs and the local customs influenced by Islam.
