The 19-story Plaza Hotel was considered a skyscraper when it was built in 1907. The Plaza, which is located at the southeast corner of Central Park in midtown Manhattan, was named a New York City Landmark in 1969, and is the only New York City hotel to be designated as a National Historic Landmark. | Architectural Digest
