Sharyn Kish on Instagram: "Here are a few ways to use those mini fly swatters… 1. Teacher (or family member) says a word. Students “swat” the beginning sound heard in the word dictated. (Great phoneme to grapheme practice) The first one to slap it gets to grab it from the table. Play until there are no more cards. 2. Play the same way but students listen for the middle vowel sound. **You can change up the game to listen for ending sounds in the words dictated. 3. Sound Circle. Lay out letter cards on the table (or use post-it notes). Students use a whisper phone and “fun” pointer to walk around the table and “whisper” read the letter and sound for each card. (A great way to informally assess and provide immediate feedback) #kinder #kindergarten #kindergartenactivities #firstgradetea Fun Letter Sound Activities, Letter Sound Practice Kindergarten, Beginning Sound Games Kindergarten, Practicing Letter Sounds, How To Teach Letter Recognition And Sounds, Letter Recognition Activities For Kindergarten, Ending Sound Activities For Kindergarten, Phonic Sound Activity For Kids, Vowel Activity For Kindergarten

Say a word, they jump to the vowel sound they hear in the word. Note: I used ‘cvc’ (consonant, vowel, consonant) words only as they only have one vowel and this is where his abilities are. #sprinkleinlearning #vowels #aeiou #literacymatters #literacycenters #literacyday #earlyliteracy #literacycoach #prek #prekteacher #prekactivities #preklife #prekindergarten #writing #writingletters #lettersounds #cvc #cvcwords #readingforkids #kidsreading #kindergartenactivities #kindergarten #activityforkids #kidsactivity #activitiesforkids #grossmotor #grossmotorskills #learningthroughplay #activekids" Activity For Vowels And Consonants, Vowel Activity For Preschool, Vowel Activity For Kindergarten, Vowel Letters Activities, Vowel Games For Kindergarten, Vowel And Consonant Activities, Vowels Games For Kindergarten, Phonics Sound Activity For Kids, How To Teach Vowels Kindergarten

Teaching gestures with letters, in particular vowel sounds (because they are so important and SO tricky) has been a game changer! If you are teaching littles, learning English or teaching English as a second language, you MUST include gestures! Sharyn Kish on Instagram: "Here’s a game that I play with my #kindergarten students that we call Spin and Stack… 1. Students Pick a letter cube from the bin/box/tray. 2. Everyone reads their letter and says the sound. 3. Spin the spinner. If it lands on “C” for consonant, players that have a consonant on their cube get to keep it. If it lands on “V” for vowel, players that have a vowel keep their cube. Play in small groups or with a partner. It’s also a great center activity once students can identify all letters and sounds and know the difference between vowels and consonants. ************************************* We also play this game by reviewing upper/lower case letters, Numbers (greater/less) #kinder #kindergarten #kindergartenactivities #phonics #earlyliteracy #firstgradeteac Vowels And Consonants, Letters And Sounds, Letter Activities, Phonics Activities, Early Literacy, Letter C, Lower Case, Activity Centers, Word Work
