The 9/11 attacks destroyed much more than the Twin Towers. A total of 10 buildings were lost in the area that came to be known as Ground Zero. In the 20 years since the September 11 attacks, reconstruction has transformed the area with memorials that honor what was lost and new buildings that provide spaces for business, shopping, transportation, education and prayer.

Tribute In Light - NYC (September 11, 2007) - Tribute in Light is an art installation of 88 searchlights placed next to the site of the World Trade Center to create two vertical columns of light in remembrance of the September 11 attacks. It is produced annually by The Municipal Art Society of New York.

It has been 16 years since the devastating attacks of September 11. Coverage of the tragedy during which nearly 3,000 perished was the main priority that day for most Western news agencies (the scenes were witnessed by an estimated two billion people - a third of the human race). Together with amateur records, this has produced such an incredible amount of footage, some of it is rarely seen even today.
