two pans tied together on top of a table

I have a thing for these kind of stars. Last week before leaving for retreat, I found this pattern in a magazine I had. I was looking for something to do with my 30's material. At the last minute I found the pattern I wanted. I love so many different kinds of quilts but I have a specail fondness for something like this because it makes me think of a quilt I had seen at my Grandmothers house when I was a child. I am not sure where the quilt came from but it was double wedding ring and it was…

Boy, it's a good thing I really love my sister. She requested a casserole carrier quite some time ago. "Not a round one", she said, "I want one to carry my 9 x 13 pan". So, I have had the special fabric for almost a year now, and it's been sitting in the casserole pan on my sewing table all that time. I didn't quite have the right pattern to make the carrier, and and looked at free pattern after free pattern . None of them was what I was looking for. So after making the little round…

Clipped equal triangles of the corners. Turned in edges and top stitched. Made a strap and sewed it on. Then made the little loops that went over the handle. Done!

DIY Casserole Carrier. What I did different than the tutorial: cut my squares to be 25" so they could hold a large casserole dish or 9x13 pan. Cut my straps as follows: (2) at 8" x 3", (1) at 23" x 3". The 17" squares in the tutorial would work great for a pie pan or 8" square pan

Is it March that the "in like a lion, out like a lamb" saying belongs to? If that's the case, I guess we're looking at a crazy end to this month, but the break from the rain and snow is appreciated for now. You've probably heard Oregon mocked for its ridiculous amount of rainfall, but we'v
