This broke my heart... Sherlock did feel for Irene Adler and think "hmm... Maybe this isn't so bad" but during the confrontation he says "I always thought love is a dangerous disadvantage. Thank you for giving me the final proof" which shows he did think that love was possibly an advantage before she broke him and made him build his walls up... Or at least until ~whispers~ the fall
