The Cookie Box Club on Instagram: "This bag cut is my all-time favorite! A tiny inverted v cut on your piping bag (or even a Ziploc bag) will help you create beautiful leaves and petals without the use of special tips. Here I used semi-stiff icing consistency to make sure the leaves would stay put when piped. The bow was made with molding royal icing and one of our silicone molds. #sugarcookies #wreathcookies #royalicing #decoratedcookies #decoratedchristmascookies #cookiedecorating" Icing Consistency, Wreath Cookies, Ziploc Bag, Beautiful Leaves, Piping Bag, Christmas Cookies Decorated, Cookie Box, V Cut, V Cuts

The Cookie Box Club on Instagram: "Don’t throw your royal icing leftovers! Use it to make rosettes. Here’s how we do ours:
✨ Cut a piece of wax paper.
✨ Make dots of icing. You can make them different sizes like here or all one size. Let your dots crust. Depending on the icing you use, this could take 20-50 minutes.
✨ Once crusted, make your little swirls with the same icing. If your original icing was in flood consistency (anything less than 15 seconds), you may need to thicken it just a bit. Adjust the size of your piping bag so you only have a small opening in your bag, making the line a bit thinner.
✨ Let your rosettes dry completely before removing them from the wax paper.
✨ Once dry, use them or store them in an airtight container.

Start by mixing your royal icing to a piping consistency. If you need a recipe or a tutorial on “How to Make Royal Icing,” check out my online store.

With the icing in the mixer, increase the speed to high and whip until it thickens and forms stiff peaks.

Your icing will have a marshmallow fluff-like consistency—thick but able to hold its shape perfectly. Now you can bag it, attach an icing tip, and start piping.
