Osmotic pressure

Osmosis & Osmotic pressure as required for class 12 CBSE chemistry.

There are three types of osmosis hypotonic, hypertonic, and isotonic. These are the effects of different solutions on blood cells. This picture is of the osmotic pressures on blood cells.

Osmosis is the diffusion of water molecules across a selectively permeable membrane. Molecules move to a higher solute concentration. The osmotic pressure is the minimum pressure required to maintain an equilibrium that doesn't have any net movement of solvent.
