Japanese Artist Kiyohiko Azuma (あずまきよひこ) is famous for his Japanese Manga Art and for being an author. Today though, we are going to have a look at his Urban Sketches and Cityscape Drawings. Manga has always been one my favourite types comics to read. Japanese manga is my favourite because there are many genres to chose from and I really like the art style they are drawn in. Manga is the main reason as to why I’m obsessed with Japanese culture because in some school life mangas they display the daily lifestyle in Japan which I came to really like.

Tom Kristensen, born 1962, is a young artist from Australia who works in the tradition of Japanese woodblock printmaking. On this page, he writes about the print 'Astro Boy with Sputnik' from the series 'Kaiju Manga'.

Tom Kristensen, a woodblock printmaker from Australia, has started a series of manga style art prints in 2005. The subjects and designs are influenced by classical Japanese ukiyo-e (Japanese prints). Tom uses basically the same tools, materials and techniques as Japanese printmakers did in the nineteenth century.

For most people outside of Japan, Akira is probably their first contact with manga and anime. The original manga is an epic work and the movie is arguably one of the finest animated films ever made. So it seemed entirely necessary to meet up with the creator Katsuhiro Otomo and discuss his work.
