There are a few different types of isolation precautions you need to know going into nursing school.

⭐️ Standard Precautions:
Used for ALL patients.
→ Use gloves, mask, gown, etc. as needed.

✋ Contact Precautions:
Spread through direct or indirect contact.
→ Wear gown and gloves.
→ Important: For C. diff patients, wash hands with soap and water—hand sanitizer does NOT kill the bacteria.

💧 Droplet Precautions:
Spread through respiratory droplets.
→ Wear gown, gloves, mask, and goggles.

💨 Airborne Precautions:
Spread through air transmission.
→ Patient in a negative pressure room.
→ Wear gown, gloves, N-95 mask, and goggles.
