A heart block is a type of arrhythmia due to electrical impulses that control the heart being disrupted.

There are 4 main heart blocks you need to know:

🔴 1st Degree Heart Block
→ Slow conduction through AV node
→ EKG shows prolonged PR interval
⭐️Rhyme to Remember: “If the R is far from P, then you have a first degree.”

🔵 2nd Degree Type 1 (Wenckebach)
→ PR intervals gradually get longer until a QRS complex drops completely 
⭐️Rhyme to Remember: “Longer, longer, longer, DROP - now you have a Wenckebach!”

🟢 2nd Degree Type 2 (Mobitz II)
→ PR intervals stay consistent, then a QRS complex is randomly blocked
