Nine years ago, two men began an extraordinary quest: to be the first to find and document all 39 species of the legendary birds of paradise. After 18 expeditions and over 39,000 photographs, their vision is complete.

Lophorina superba, Superb Bird-of-paradise, Greater Lophorina, is found mostly in rain forests or forest edges and also mountainous habitats of the forests of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. It is usually found on top of the trees and travels across the trees to catch its prey which can vary depending on seasonal availability of food. It has not only been known to eat fruits and insects, but also have been spotted preying on larger animals such as frogs, reptiles and other small birds.
