After it dried, we sanded the wood filler smooth and then scuff-sanded the shiny original surface really well. We then cleaned the chest with Fusion TSP Alternative diluted in water. To obtain a smooth and flawless finish, we added Fusion Extender to our paint. About 15 ml to a 500 ml jar (about ¼ of the bottle). When you have a large surface that requires continuous long strides, adding Extender to the paint will give you additional open time to smooth out the paint before it dries.
