When it comes to picky eaters, there might actually be a deeper, underlying sensory problem occurring, known as sensory food aversion.

Food aversion is when a child refuses to eat specific food types presented to them. The limited food repertoire impacts their nutrition.

Food aversion, known as ARFID is a serious eatng disorder. You may not have the full blown disorder but may experience food aversion, a fear of some foods, a lack of interest in food or a strong dislike of some foods. This can be overcome and healed. Sensory food aversion is a condition where a person has an aversion to certain textures of food. It is different than picky eating!

Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) involves a significant restriction in food intake that's unrelated to body size/image.
