Pinterest is a fabulous, and rather addicting, website that allows you to create boards you can pin ideas that are linked to pictures in an easy to use format. Since I'm a firm believer in learning through real-life experiences, using real tools, and working with real mentors and experts, the interior design course I planned for my high schooler included more than just books and hypothetical situations.

This lesson teaches the basics parts of a window, window treatments and how to measure for window treatments. It also allows students to physically “make” small versions of different window treatments. These projects make great display pieces for your department’s display case or open house!
