The princesses that star in Disney's classic movies inhabit beautiful fantasy worlds, but it apparently doesn't take much to turn these into dark, nightmarish realms. Jeffrey Thomas, a cartoon artist and character designer in California, reimagines what our favorite Disney heroines would look like if their worlds were a whole lot darker and creepier.
As a person who couldn’t even draw a passable stick figure to save my life, I deeply admire those who can create stunning, detailed imagery using just their hands and a set of colors. What is even more remarkable is that some of these artists are capable of creating what many would consider a masterpiece having never really had any formal education, i.e. having learned it all on their own.
It's the little details that really push them over the edge into nightmare territory. For over five years, artist Jeffrey Thomas has been working his way through the roster for his Twisted Disney series.
