Hooray! All eight of my Christmas place mats are finished! They really were quite easy and fast. I intentionally made them without binding for two reasons. 1) I didn't want to spend the time it would have taken to hand stitch the binding on the back side of the mats. Eight is a big bunch. 2) I wanted the outer edge to have no extra bulk in the seam. Figuring out how to go about this process quickly became an irresistible challenge. Our new Christmas placemats

Just a short post to show you our new Christmas placemats. These are so quick and easy to make-16 3 1/2" squares make the middle of the placemat, and a 31/2" strip on each side and it's done! I just quilted these in the ditch- nothing fancy. I got our Christmas dinnerware out as well- love these Disney plates! Hope you have a fun weekend getting ready for Christmas!

In this video I will show you how I crocheted this really cute and easy to make Christmas placemat. I used Bernat Handicrafter 100% cotton yarn. The white is called white and the red is called red. I used a 5mm crochet hook. The crochet stitch used for these coasters is a c2c (corner to corner) stitch. I hope you find this tutorial easy to follow.
