Bruges is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe, the combination of architecture and canal waterways is stunning and the reason the historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The belfry of Bruges is one of the most iconic features in the town and was originally built in 1240, it stands tall at 83m but also has a quite noticeable 87cm tilt which only adds to the character of the pretty market square.
