Sea of Cortez, Mexico The fish trap: The Pericue indians (one of the earliest groups to inhabit North America) once lived here during part of the year up until the 1800's. You can see the remnants of an ancient fish trap they built by piling up basaltic rocks in the corner of the bay which allowed fish to swim in during high tide and trapping them as the tide went out.
We’d heard that the best way to explore Baja California Sur was via the network of dirt roads that criss cross and meander through the desert. What we’d heard had been right. Cabo is best explored through its dirt highways.
