Very little has been written about Aleksandra Samusenko in English. She was a member of the Soviet armed forces before the war and one source indicates that she fought for the U.S.S.R. in the Spanish Civil War and the Winter War in Finland. It’s unclear from present information, but her records indicate that she was a member of an infantry regiment at Stalingrad.
