15 in battleship Bismarck at Kiel, summer 1940. She is not yet in commission, lacking rangefinders and stores (thus riding high out of the water). She was sunk in the Atlantic on 27 May 1941 by an avenging Royal Navy after sinking the famous battlecruiser HMS Hood a few days earlier in one of the most celebrated naval episodes of WW2.
