Now he show you how to rig it with EZ-Line cut to the rough lengths needed to all of the attachment points on the upper wing. Wingnut Wings always includes rigging diagrams in their kits. He typically attach wires to the top wing, then attach the other end to the lower wing, working from inside to outside. #scalemodel #military #aircraft #hobby Aircraft Modeling, Women In History, Ancient History, Model Planes, Aviation Art, Modern History, Model Making

Gap fillers and how to use them. Model kits consist of parts but the object of finishing is to make them look like a solid object. The best way to do that is to eliminate gaps between the pieces. Sanding will take care of minor problems. However, if the parts don’t quite meet or are mismatched, filler may be needed. Putties remain the go-to for this kind of work. But there are several types and they can be useful in different ways. Let’s look at three main types and how to use them #scalemodel Scale Model Ships, Modeling Putty

Getting the most out of photo-etch metal means turning up the heat. For some scale modelers, photo-etched metal is the scourge of the hobby. Others embrace the delicate brass bits. Most fall somewhere in between. To truly love working and building with photo-etched metal, you need to come to grips with the soldering iron, as super glue has its limitations. As it turns out, learning to solder isn't that hard. Start small and use scrap photo-etch to learn, not a key modeling project. #scalemodel Soldering Tools, Soldering Jewelry, Soldering Iron, Metal Etching, Diy Repair, Jewelry Making Project, Model Train Layouts

A model is only as good as its pieces... Great models are based on a consistent application of good, basic techniques easily within reach of beginners and intermediates as well. And that begins with taking time to prepare each part: removing flash (excess plastic) and mold seams, filling ejector-pin marks, smoothing rough edges, and making sure the part is clean before you attach it so glue and paint adhere as they should. Here's how to do it perfectly each time. #ScaleModel #Building Building Builder, All The Small Things, Cool Things To Make, Toy Garage, N Scale Trains, Workshop Organization

There are parts of an aircraft model where you can get away with mistakes. The canopy is never one of them. Spots of glue or squiggly framework on clear parts can spoil a model more surely than anything. But if you’ve ever loused one up, you are in excellent company. That’s why you read so many articles and tips about it. Here are three of the most common — and reliable — ways of masking a canopy for painting. Spitfire Model, Fokker Dr1
